Conference Table

Sometimes, instead of drawing, architects talk about their ideas. They use grown-up words like "sustainability" and "accessibility" to make sure their buildings are good for the environment and easy for everyone to use, even children in wheelchairs or friends with hearing aids.

Fun Fact

Architects don't just build houses, they design and create the buildings that shape our everyday lives: schools, hospitals, libraries, parks, even your favorite ice cream shop!

Conference TV

Just like you show off your drawings to your friends, architects can use video conferencing to show the people who need the building their cool plans and ideas. They can zoom in on details and explain how everything will work, even if the person is miles away.

Fun Fact

Architects often work with other people to build cool things, like engineers who make sure everything is safe and strong, and construction workers who put the plans into action.

Blueprints

Instead of crayons on paper, architects use special pencils and rulers to draw detailed plans on big sheets called blueprints. Think of a blueprint like a coloring page for a building! The architect draws all the lines and shapes, and then other people, like builders and engineers, use the blueprint to "color" it in with bricks, wood, and glass, bringing the architect's dream to life.

Fun fact

No building is too big or too small for an architect. They can design tiny homes that fit snugly in the woods or towering skyscrapers that touch the clouds.
